Slumberland Furniture donates beds to kids in need for Christmas

Good Day Dakota

For 25 years, Slumberland Furniture, has been giving warm beds away to children in need.

Since 1993 Slumberland stores have been partnering with the Salvation Army for the Homes for the Holidays Foundation.

This year the Bismarck store will be donating 14 beds and bed frames to children in need. Slumberland Furniture stores nationwide have donated over 32,000 mattresses.

The store also works with the 40 Weeks Foundation, which gives a portion of the youth memory foam mattresses purchased from Slumberland to the Homes for the Holiday program.

I spoke with the manager of Bismarck’s Slumberland store, Kim Chase,  who says there is a big need for beds in our region.

“I would say anywhere from 5 to 15 donations a year besides the Homes for Holidays. So yes I would say there is a lot of people in need,” says Chase.

Chase also told me they provide quilts for the kids they help as well Beds will be donated all throughout this week.
