YOU could be the next Souris Valley Sabre Dog

Good Day Dakota

It takes more than just the roster to make up the entire team behind the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs.

Before the season starts, management is looking to hire the rest of the Sabre Dogs that make the season happen.

There are more than 20 positions open to work for the Sabre Dogs this summer.
One of those includes being the Sabre Dog mascot himself.

“The kids love him, the fans love him,” Assistant General Manager for the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs, Savannah Young said.

What does it take to be Ace, the Souris Valley Sabre Dog?
He’s the team’s biggest fan and their biggest cheerleader .. and he’s not just man’s best friend, he’s everyone’s best friend.

“He likes the play around,” she said.

As the face of the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs, Ace has to attend all 32 home games plus the two-day Expedition League All-Star game event.

Dogs tend to get especially hot in the summer, so management is looking for at least three people to suit up and share the responsibility.

“Ace is definitely a primary aspect to our entire brand,” said Savannah. “So it’s very important that we have visibility of him during the summer, during the offseason, and all of that stuff.”

Ace is a big dog with an even bigger personality. Pretty much like any other dog, his duties include being friendly and having fun.

“Just messing around with the fans, having a good time, making sure everyone else is having a good time. Poking fun at people, you know, messing with them.”

So if you’ve got the moves and you’ve got the spirit, you can bring your A game to become the Sabre Dogs mascot, Ace.

Whether it be Ace or another position with the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs, you can snag your summer job before the season starts.

The team is looking for people to work in the concession stands, hospitality, merchandise and the kids’ areas.

You can be hired right on the spot at a hiring event on Saturday, April 27th.
It will be held from 10 am – 12 pm at the Sabre Dogs office located at 2001 8th Ave SE, suite G.
Please bring two forms of identification and  a voided check for payment.
