A juvenile has been cited for kicking and hitting a bus driver in Mandan.
According to Mandan police, it happened Wednesday, October 10th on Old Red Trail in Mandan.
Around 7:45 in the morning- a 12 year old was getting on the school bus.
A police report says his mom wanted to talk to the bus driver about a previous incident involving one of her other kids.
Mandan Police say the 12 year old tried to squeeze between the bus driver and his mom and grabbed the door handle….
Then, police allege— the driver tried to take the students hand off the handle and that’s when the 12 year old started to kick and hit the man in the chest.
The juvenile also grabbed the C-B radio handle and struck the 73-year-old- bus driver.
The man had cuts on his chin and blood around his lip, but authorities said he did not go to the hospital.
The juvenile has been cited for simple assault, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, tampering with public service.
Police forwarded the report to the State’s Attorney for possible charges of criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, and tampering with public service.
The bus driver was not charged.
