Shots were fired at a pickup truck Thursday night, injuring an 18-year-old man.

Between 11:30 p.m. and midnight, a suspect fired two rounds from a handgun into the bed of a truck parked on the 600 block of 9th Street in Bismarck.

The truck was holding eight people, six in the cab, two in the bed, when another car drove up and shots were fired from it.

The 18-year-old victim was in the bed when his leg was injured. Bismarck Police say he was either hit by shrapnel as a result of the bullets going through the bed, or he could have been grazed by one of the bullets.

Police say the man is in stable condition, and they haven’t located a suspect at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
