(AP) — President Donald Trump’s budget proposal includes $27 million to construct an indoor firing range at Minot Air Force Base.

U.S. Sen. John Hoeven says the base’s existing outdoor range doesn’t support Air Force training requirements, and isn’t safe. He says it’s frequently shut down due to weather, air quality concerns or maintenance.

Hoeven is a member of the Senate Military Construction Appropriations Committee.
