It’s day two of the 49th Annual UTTC International Pow Wow and crowds are bigger than ever.

Today kicked off with youth activities including different performances, ceremonies, and prayers.

The Powwow festival began Thursday and goes all the way through Sunday. This years festival is a little different than previous years and was not only dedicated to the former UTTC president but also Native American U.S. Veterans.

UTTC President, Leander McDonald, “Veterans have the highest enlistment and have the highest rates of any other race in the nation and we maintain status because both our men and women serve.
This goes back to our warrior societies and in the modern times we don’t really have that opportunity to put that forth, so I think us serving the services really helps in the end.”

The adult dance contest starts tonight and we’re putting North Dakota First by covering the event all weekend.
