A woman who briefly retired from the profession is back on the job as a registered nurse – and today her co-workers surprised her with a party to celebrate her 50th anniversary of being a nurse.
Dianne Freed came back to the job part time at Northland Health Service in Minot.
She says it’s perfect for her so she can continue to do what she loves about the job – helping others.
(Dianne Freed, Registered Nurse) “Seems like perfect balance – have the opportunity to continue nursing reaching out to people and doing what I can to offer support and still have time to do some things that have been on hold when I was busier in my career.”
(Patrick Butler, Northland Health Service CEO) “I know that a lot of our patients love her and return just to see her.”
Freed says she’s spent most of her nursing career in intensive care and cardiovascular care.
