5K Run/Walk To Highlight Overdose Problem, Raise Funds


Walkers and runners are encouraged to descend on Oak Park on Friday to raise money and highlight the need for overdose prevention and recovery.

A 5K walk/run event will take place in conjunction with Overdose Awareness Day.

The event begins at 5:30 PM at Oak Park, with a program featuring speakers on recovery, harm reduction, overdose recognition, prevention, and personal stories of triumph and tragedy.

You’ll also have the chance to learn about the use of Naloxone in combating opioid overdose situations.

The event will be capped off by a 5K run and walk starting at 6:30 in Oak Park.
