A place dedicated to keeping clean is celebrating a birthday this weekend.
Expressway Laundromat and Car Wash opened 35 years ago this week in Minot on Burdick Expressway East.
The business that sat on a large, empty lot when it started, is now surrounded by businesses that have sprung up in recent years including XPress Mart and Dollar General.
Mitch Evenson, his brother, and his parents got the business going.
He says nowadays there’s an established clientele – including oilfield workers who drop off their clothes for cleaning.
(Mitch Evenson, Expressway Laundromat & Car Wash) “Of course oilfield clothing gets pretty bad. So we don’t let them do the laundry here, we have an attendant who does the laundry for them and we have a number of fleet accounts that we service.”
To celebrate 35 years, Expressway Laundromat and Car Wash invites you in for a free meal of slushburgers and the fixings – including cake – Saturday and Sunday from 11 to 6.
