In Stanley, the High School is remodeling and adding on to accommodate more students.
Before the oil, Stanley had about 300 students enrolled in the district.
Now, there are about there’s about 700 students in the district and around 300 of them are at the high school.
The new addition project started in May and will include a new commons area, locker rooms, main office, and kitchen and dining area.
“We’re doing this for the benefit of the students and we’re doing this for safety of the students and just update facilities,” said Tim Holte, Stanley Superintendent.
The new addition is projected to be done in March or April.
Until then, students won’t have access to a commons area or locker room and the old kitchen and main office will stay in operation.
