The Devils Lake Police Department is asking for help finding the driver of vehicle involved in a high speed chase Tuesday, January 2nd.
According to North Dakota’s Highway Patrol, around 8:12 p.m. a trooper attempted to stop a white Chevy Cavalier passenger car for speeding.
The Cavalier was traveling westbound at 83 mph in a 70 mph zone. The initial violation occurred 5 miles east of Devils Lake. The Cavalier fled from the Trooper reaching speeds of 100+mph.
When the vehicle reached the city limits of Devils Lake, the trooper stopped the search for public safety reasons.
The Cavalier was later found abandoned within Devils Lake city limits shortly after the Trooper stopped pursuing.
The vehicle has been seized pending investigation.
