A benefit is being held tonight for a 10-year-old girl who was badly injured from a watercraft incident at Strawberry Lake.
Abbey Mikkelson is one of two girls who were hurt after an uncontrolled jet ski hit their float tubes.

Haley Sundsbak was the other 10-year-old she died as a result.

Mikkelson is still recovering from her injuries- but we hear– she is getting better.

The benefit is being held at South Prairie Elementary School in Minot—from now until 10, tonight.

Community members are invited to have dinner and participate in both a silent and live auction.

“It is expensive having all these medical expenses that have incurred– so just come out and help that family out,” said benefit coordinator Sally Eberle.

All proceeds will go straight to Mikkelson and her family.
