A little more than six months have passed since medical marijuana applications were made available to North Dakotans.
Currently, there are 380 active qualifying patient cards and around 250 submitted applications.
There could be more, but card applications can be held up for various reasons:
- Waiting for the applicant’s payment.
- Waiting for a health care provider to complete a written certification.
- Or a request was made to an applicant to re-submit a passport quality photo.
The Division of Medical Marijuana says they are currently expecting the Grand Forks dispensary to open this month, with the Williston and Bismarck shops, possibly opening as soon as June.
The only open dispensary in the state right now is in Fargo.
