If you haven’t noticed already, the streets are busier than usual in Bismarck and Mandan this weekend. It’s the second day of the 43rd annual McQuade Charity Softball Tournament.
With games being played at six softball complexes in Bismarck and Mandan, it’s important to plan for increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic, especially anywhere near the playing fields.
Sergeant Tim Sass of the Bismarck Police Department advises, “There’s going to be numerous people here that aren’t from Bismarck, North Dakota and some not even from the United States, so be wary. Not everyone is familiar with one-way streets, they’re not familiar with some of our traffic laws, so just be mindful and maybe have a little more patience. Allow yourself a little more time if you’re going anywhere this weekend.”
Sergeant Sass also noted that wherever you go this weekend, remember: don’t leave valuables in your car where they’re vulnerable to being snatched.
