SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – Texting is the way most people communicate these days, with our lives sometimes being too busy for a phone call.

A new bad texting habit is starting to cause problems in the digital world, especially when it comes to dating.

“Cricketing” is when you read a text from someone, but don’t respond for hours or even days, according to Business Insider.

According to the Plenty of Fish website, this is the latest annoying dating behavior, with one of the site’s dating experts saying it’s a way to avoid awkward conversation.

Business Insider reports that 67% of single people say they’ve waited patiently for a response and received it later than they thought they would.

Now, sometimes people are just busy, but other times, someone may just cue the crickets.
