Are you middle class? There’s an easy way to find out

Do you consider yourself to be in the American middle class? Or are you upper or lower class?

You may think one thing, but your household income may say something else.

Depending on where you live, a $100,000 income for two people may put you in the upper or lower class.

The Pew Research Organization developed a simple calculator that allows you to instantly see what class you belong to in America.

While the calculator has been around for a few years, it was recently updated with the most current data available.

Simply enter your total household income, the number of people in the household and the city and state where you live. Press “Enter” and you’ll see where you stand compared to everyone else.

Swap out the city and state and see where you’d be if you lived elsewhere.

You can use the calculator here, as well as learn more about the methodology involved.

You might be surprised how well you’re doing.
