A Sawyer man is charged with holding up a Minot convenience store at gunpoint in a crime police say netted him two cartons of cigarettes early Sunday morning.

Minot Police say 18-year-old Tyler M. Zietz pointed a gun at a clerk at the Loaf N Jug on 4th Avenue Northwest, stole the cigarettes, and took off.
Police say an officer later tried to stop Zietz’s car when it fled, starting a 50-mile chase to Drake where Zietz was taken into custody.
Officers report finding the handgun along the road.
