Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says he’s running for re-election.
Stenehjem was first elected to the position in 2000. In his last two races, 2010 and 2014, he’s defeated his opponent by almost 50% of the vote.
In a press release, he says he’s seeking re-election in order to continue focus on combatting human trafficking, crimes against children and the elderly, protecting the consumers from fraud, and fighting the illegal drug trade.
Stenehjem began working in politics in 1976 when he was elected to the state’s House of Representatives. He then served in the State Senate for District 42 until elected to the Attorney General’s post in 2000.
Stenehjem is originally from Mohall, N.D.
So far Stenehjem does not have an opponent in the upcoming race.
