The Bismarck 13’s earned a trip to the Babe Ruth World Series.
The 13’s finished as the runner ups in the state tournament, but won the regional to qualify for the World Series.
In the regional, Bismarck went 4-0 and beat West Fargo in the championship, the same team that defeated them in the state championship game the prior week.
First-year head coach Alex Horner is proud of his team’s resilience.
“It was really high level baseball,” Horner said. “There were a couple of really close games. That’s the one thing that’s really cool about this group of kids. That they find ways to win even when it’s tough.”
The 13’s first World Series game is Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. in Mt. Home, Arkansas.
