Both Bismarck and Minot had good days at the dish on Saturday.
The Governors hosted Eden Prairie for a doubleheader at Municipal Ballpark. Bismarck’s bats were quiet for most of the first game, but a late rally provided enough of a comeback for a 4-3 win in extra innings.
Game two went much more smoothly for the Governors, as they completed the sweep of Eden Prairie with a 4-1 win.
Up at Corbett Field, the Minot Vistas took on the Inside Pitch Prospects.
In the third, the Vistas led by one but Inside Pitch lined a single past the shortstop to eve the game at 1-1.
An inning later, Cade South provided a sac fly to put the Prospects on top. Later in the inning, a ground ball richocheted off the glove of Conor Taney, allowing another run to score to make it a 3-1 game.
The Vistas would get one back and then put two in scoring position in the sixth. Easton Bennett dropped a base hit to right center to drive in the tying and go-ahead runs. Minot would add one more to win the game 5-3.
The two teams met again in the semifinal game, and Minot emerged with an 8-7 win.
