Some local bars competed to prove which place is the best. 26 teams, each with at least one Minot bar employee, showed off their throwing skills in the Battle of the Bars Cornhole Tournament.

50% of the proceeds will go towards helping the Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue. Some participants brought along their rescues to say hello. Tap Room Employee, Tonya Stuart-Melland says her rescue is basically a cat in a big dog’s body and she can’t imagine life without a greyhound.

“I will always give money to dogs, or any animal, really. If there was a llama rescue, I’d give money to llamas, I don’t care as long as they’re animals, I will give money,” says Tonya Stuart-Melland, Tap Room Employee.

The event raised over six hundred dollars for the Turtle Mountain Rescue.
