It is all about paying it forward for this family.
Heidi Werosta shows you how you can help in this week’s positively North Dakota.
Sarah was pregnant with twins— then on January 15 of 2016 her water broke — 14 weeks early.
Sara Murray, Beckett’s Mother, says, “Beckett became sick with an infection and due to his size he was less than 2lbs at the time. Due to his size he couldn’t fight the infection so he ended up passing away.”
Beckett’s twin sister is now two years old and healthy.
And the family is now paying it forward.
Krista Murray, Beckett’s Aunt, says, “It’s our way of making a heartbreaking situation into somethings that’s positive”
Sarah Murray says, “Do random acts of kindness on the day that he past away, but it was great because people actually started from their birthday and kind of just did it throughout the week.”
The family is encouraging people to do anything that would make somone’s day… like delivering a donut to a coworker.
Sarah Murray says, “Somebody had actually made a donation to Arbor Day Foundation and had 15 trees planted for him which is a great idea.”
To show that it’s an act of kindness for Beckett —there are cards for you to share.
Courtney Neff, Pediatric Therapy Partners, says, “If you’re dropping something off at a daycare or a business or for a friend you put the card with them then it says ‘Be Kind for Beckett’ so it has the Facebook stuff and everything linked together so people can visit that.”
‘Be Kind for Beckett’ is now two years strong and it is growing.
Krista Murray says, “It started out with just our family and then it expanded to friends of ours, Sara and Jeff, then it expands to people and their friends.”
It is just something that brings a little bit of joy to the family everytime it is the twins birthday.
Sarah Murray says, “It makes our family very happy. There is no greater thing in the world than people doing kind things for other people and it is such a special way to honor his memory.”
The family has recently added an addition to the family… a little boy named Jonah.
The family also wants to bring awareness to infant loss because there are other families out there that have gone through the same thing.
