It was a special one of a kind ride to school for a young Bismarck boy.
Elliot Hatzenbuhler just finished kindergarten at St. Mary’s grade school, and on his seconds to last day of the school year, he got to ride in a street sweeper.
Elliot won a ride with the Bismarck Public Works Service Department through a Public Works Day Celebration contest. 5 winners in Bismarck were chosen.
The lucky winners got to pick a ride in an aerial truck, log truck, garbage truck, snow removal truck or a street sweeper.
Elliot received the ride in the street sweeper, and called it “the best day ever.”
Elliot’s mom says Dennis with Bismarck Public Works made Elliot feel like he was a part of the crew.
And while the pictures show a special day, it’s the letter Elliot wrote as a ‘thank you’ that will really make you smile.
