Bismarck – A group of Canadian police officers were in Bismarck today, raising money and awareness for children with life-threatening illnesses.
Members of the Winnipeg police department left yesterday on an over 19-hundred mile trek to Tucson Arizona, all to raise money for the Children’s Wish Foundation, which helps grant wishes for sick children.
The event is only a few day old and the group has already raised 30-thousand dollars. One of the officers tells KX News, nothing stops them once the ride begins.
“In 2016, on the way to Chicago, it was down to one degree, almost freezing through North Dakota, we’ve had Hurricanes when we’ve gone to Florida before, so yeah, we’ve experienced all sorts of weather but nothing stops us”. Said Winnipeg Identification Technician Paul Simpson, who’s participating in the ride.
After a short stop at the state capital the group departed for Mandan.
They hope to reach Lusk, Nebraska sometime tomorrow.
