A local mentoring organization is hoping to raise money through a grocery store’s receipts-for-dollars program.
The Bis-Man Mentor Squad is joining the “Direct Your Dollars” campaign through Dan’s Supermarket, where donated receipts are converted into donated cash.
People are asked to save their receipts and drop them off at the Bis-Man Mentor Squad.
For every 150,000 receipts they receive, Dan’s will reward the organization with $1,000.
Bis-Man Mentor Squad Program Director Deanna Larson says that money will help strengthen mentoring efforts.
“We just think there are a lot of kids in need that can use the help and support of a mentor and what a mentor can provide. It seems like the needs are greater than ever for kids to have somebody in their lives,” said Larson. “It is a great way to support our program. It’s a great way to give back to the community.”
