Bismarck Bank Teller Admits to Stealing $8,000 Dollars from BNC Bank

A Bismarck bank teller was arrested for embezzlement after stealing $8,000 from her cash drawer over the course of a couple of months.

Bismarck Police responded to BNC National Bank off of South 3rd Street around 2:15 Wednesday afternoon, after the Bank Manager called to report the embezzlement.

The suspect, 24-year-old Katie Walter told her manager she had been stealing out of the cash drawer after management informed her they would be doing a routine audit of the drawers.

When officers arrived, Walters told them she had a ‘tooter’ in her bra, which is a device used to smoke heroin.

The officers patted her down and found the device. The Bismarck woman told them she took the money to support her heroin habit.

She was arrested for embezzlement and drug paraphernalia. The case is being forwarded on to the State’s Attorney.
