Black Friday increase over the past year

According the The National Retail Federation, 116 million people planned to shop during Black Friday.  Black Friday will remain the busiest day during the Thanksgiving weekend.

We reached out to the mall manager, who said sales have had more than a 10 percent increase over the past year.

Shoppers are expected to spend more this year, according to the National Retail Federation.

Kirkwood Mall General Manager, Jennifer Wilson, says she has not seen this much traffic on Black Friday in a while.

“Black Friday is back,” Wilson said. “Today, we are seeing traffic that is more abundant than the past three years. Our tenants are telling us that they are seeing increase in sales. The traffic is just crazy and the stores are packed.”

Each year the mall presents a Black Friday parade with the Bismarck High School marching band.
