The month of May is an important one for United Blood services.
Each day they must take 250 donations to keep up with supplies in the Western part of the region.
But with school letting out for summer their donations seem to drop off significantly.
This is due to the fact that they can not host as many blood drives on school campuses.
“It’s really important that we have a good strong month because of the fact that we do have the summer months coming up and we do notice that after memorial day our donations seem to drop substantially due to the fact that kids are out of school, people are trying to do their traveling,” said donor recruiter Teresa Johnson.
They encourage anyone who is able to donate to stop by.
United Blood Services in Minot will now be open every first Saturday of the month.
