Blood donations are needed.
The frigid temperatures have slowed down Vitalants supply and they say they are in critical demand.
Because of the dangerous temperatures we got early this week many of their drives were canceled.
Now all blood types are needed.
Locally, Vitalant needs to collect 250 donations of all types to meet patient needs.
“We’re in tough shape right now we typically try to have at least a four day supply of our O donations on the shelf and currently at the level that we’re operating we’re less than half,” said donor recruiter Teresa Johnson.
She encourages you to donate some blood as one pint of blood could help save three peoples lives.
