Bomb threat at Legacy High School


UPDATE, 2:45 pm:

All after school activities for Legacy High School have been cancelled.

Parent-Teacher conference this evening have also been cancelled.

Legacy parents should watch for a text/email update about how and when students can pick up their cars and backpacks from the school.

Update: 2:19 pm:

Information released from Bismarck Public Schools regarding Legacy High School.

The F.B.I. is now on site at Legacy High School due to a bomb threat called in to the Bismarck Police Dept. Students will not be able to get back into the school to get their possessions.

Here is the dismissal information: Students who drove to school: Students will not be able to get their vehicles in the LHS parking lot during the investigation. Parents may now pick up their own child(ren) at the safe site. YOU MUST have proper identification, and you can only pick up YOUR child(ren). You will need to be patient as there are already parents at the safe site and parking is limited. Students who rode the bus to school: Parents can pick up their own child at the safe site (see above) OR the students can ride the bus home at the regular time (3:30 pm). The bus will pick bused students up at Weiss & Sons and return them home.

UPDATE, 2:10 pm:

Bismarck Police say all students and safe are evacuated to a safe site.

Officers are still searching the building.

UPDATE, 1:18 pm:

At about 12:22 pm, someone called Bismarck Dispatch center report a bomb inside the school at Legacy High School.

Police said the person had a foreign accent, BPD say it is probably a hoax.

The school has been evacuated after police responded.

A check of the building is underway.

The students will then be released back to school if it is deemed safe.

Bismarck Police say they are investigating a bomb threat at Legacy High School in Bismarck.

This is NOT an active shooter incident according to the BPD.

A threat was made to the police departments general number for Legacy High School.

School has been evacuated. Student and staff are at a safe site. Parents are asked not to go to the school.
