Bottineau County Farmers Purchase Car Dealerships


Car dealerships in two area towns have new owners.
Two Bottineau County farmers purchased Theel Incorporated in Bottineau in January, and Ripplinger Motors in Harvey last month.

Wally Brandjord and Daniel Kersten say they’ve talked about getting into the car business for a while.
And when the two local dealerships became available, they were excited to keep the businesses open with local ownership.

(Wally Brandjord, Theel Motors/Ripplinger Motors Owner) “I’ve kind of been a car guy or maybe a car nut my whole life so it’s something I’ve always been interested in and having the opportunity to do it, kind of to have the dealership that’s been in your backyard, it’s exciting to be able to take a stab at it.”
(Daniel Kersten, Theel Motors/Ripplinger Motors Owner) “It’s somewhere I’ve always done business with and felt good about it. We want to keep it here.”

In Bottineau, the two men are the third owners of the business that first opened decades ago.
