BOTTINEAU, N.D. (WDAY) — A 19-year-old Bottineau man has been charged with felony manslaughter and remains in jail in the accidental shooting death of his roommate and friend Devon Main at their trailer park residence last week, said Bottineau County Sheriff Steve Watson on Monday, Oct. 8.

Carlos Antonio Valentin is charged in the shooting death of Devon Main, who was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead after the incident just before midnight on Oct. 3 at the trailer park about a half-mile south of Bottineau.

A hearing was held Friday and cash bail was set at $500,000, said the sheriff.

Watson said Valentin was playing around with a handgun when it went off striking Main.
