Veterans in the area didn’t have to worry about cooking breakfast, this morning, because the boy scouts had them covered. Troop 437 teamed up with the American Legion Post 26 to make pancakes for local veterans as a thank you for their service.
Life Scout, Dylan Austin, has been stationed with his family all over the country, but he’s never seen an event like this anywhere else. He says visiting with the veterans while helping out with the pancake breakfast has given him a renewed respect for the sacrifices they have made.
“Ask them what different stories they have from their way and what it used to be like here, and all that. But definitely a different experience and more appreciative of it now,” says Dylan Austin, Life Scout in Troop 437.
He added that serving the veterans helped to bring a deeper meaning of Veteran’s Day for him.
