Former Assistant Superintendent for Bismarck Public Schools (BPS), Mike Heilman, has withdrawn his name from consideration for the interim BPS Superintendent position.

Current BPS superintendent Tamara Uselman will be leaving in June.

Heilman was being considered to fill the position only for the 2018-19 school year. He met with School Board President Karl Lembke and Business and Operations Manager Darin Scherr Tuesday to discuss the position.

Today, BPS announced Heilman has decided not to take the position for personal reasons.

He currently serves part time as the Burleigh County Superintendent of Schools.

BPS School Board members will discuss next steps in the hiring process at their meeting Monday, March 26th.
