Today was a chance to thank our North Dakota military for their service and enjoy some delicious food.

The Military Affairs committee and the North Dakota National Guard hosted a picnic to announce the Armory’s new location and hold an open house. Several members of the national guard, their families and friends all enjoyed the weather, with some brats and snacks.

For one father, he was glad to see so much support coming from his hometown.

Harvey Schilling; Father of National Guardsman: “How wonderful is it that the community would recognize how important they are to us. Not only across the seas and wherever, but right here in our community. I think it’s just so valuable and so important that we recognize them for all the work they do all over the place. We’re just so proud – I’m so proud that I have a son in the national guard.”

They changed locations to combine the armory with the military service center together in one building.
