Broadway performer comes home to Medora for the Summer

Jared Mason was one of the top stars on Broadway for not one but two musicals.

” I knew I was perfect for Stomp, so I went to New York and auditioned for Stomp. Then the Million Dollar Quartet…” said Mason.

Bill Sorenson of Medora the Musical, said Mason is one of the most talented musicians he knows.

“He can do anything musically,” said Sorenson.

The North Dakota performer said he owes his Broadway success to the seven years he spent performing in Medora the Musical.

“I”ve had to do alot of different things . . . the producer of the Medora Musical. He gave me alot of different opportunities to do alot of different things, ” said Mason

Even though he has gone on to star in Broadway Musicals, he said there is something special about Medora.

“The North Dakota background definitely plays into that, because there is so much humility here, and there is so much realness in the people here,” said Mason

He also enjoys the intimacy he can have with audience in Medora.

” Believe it or not…. I prefer this gig way more than any Broadway show I’ve ever done,” said Mason.

Mason will be performing In Medora through August, and then he will be heading to Nashville to record an album.
