Business Beat: Murphy Motors, Fiber Basket, & Dialectic Brewing Company

One new business is encouraging people to kick back and create something new.

And another isn’t your typical bar that has TV’s and music but instead focuses on providing a space for people to drink and talk.

Next to New is the mantra new owners are living by at Murphy Motors in Minot.

The new owners dedicated 14 years to the business before stepping into this role and their goal is to have business as usual.

The car dealership will still buy and sell used vehicles at a reasonable prices.

There’s a way to relax and show off your creativity.

Fiber Basket recently opened in Minot and is a yarn shop.

They offer wools, acrylic and wool blends, alpaca, llama, and silk blends in various weights.

You can put in an order to have an item made or you can learn how to do it on your own during one of their knitting or crochet classes.

“So there’s lots of reasons to do this but I think the most important one is you can make lots of pretty things,” said Lenore Koczon, Fiber Basket Owner.

Dialectic Brewing Company will open on Main Street in Mandan in early May.

The owner says this will not be your typical bar..

There will be no TV’s and no loud music, encouraging customers to make this a place to come for conversation.

Many of the beers offered will have a lower alcohol content so you can have a few and stay a while.

Dialectic Brewing won’t be serving food but they invite customers to bring outside food in with them!

Soft opening is set for May 14th.
