Darrell’s Bar-B-Que and Soul Food Cafe

One Bismarck restaurant is bringing REAL southern food to Bismarck. Formerly known as Brew ‘N’ Que, the store has now been rebranded into Darrell’s Bar-B-Que and Soul Food Cafe.

The cafe just recently changed it’s image so they could solely focus on different types of Southern Food. Before they were just serving BBQ, Ribs, and briskets– and now they have upped their menu to southern favorites such as Shrimp and Grits, Chicken and Waffles, and smoked chicken and sausage gumbo. OThe owner Darrell Mathews, says his dishes are inspired from different recipes around the south such as Mississippi, Texas,  North Carolina, and Georgia. He says he was a little nervous at first bringing in the southern style food to North Dakota.

Darrell Mathews//Owner of Darrell’s BBQ and Soul Food Cafe: Like I said it’s been a big hit. I wasn’t sure how it go as far as the waffles, the shrimp and grits, the chicken and waffles, but we served it and people were literally commenting on Facebook, they have been calling and asking for it. I just didn’t know how well it would go over.

Mathews says they have been selling out of many of his dishes he’s been introducing.

Redline Motor Sports

Three Bismarck brothers are making their dreams come true– by opening an auto shop.

Casey, Dauntae, and Preston Martin are co-owners of Redline Motor Sports. Sticking to their roots, they opened the store in their hometown, the capital city. The shop offers cub-cadet and beta– with everything from ATV’s to snow blowers to four-wheelers. Redline Motor Sports opened 3 months ago, and say business has been good.

Preston Martin; Co-owner: “Considering it’s a new business, and generally, winter is a slow time of year, it’s actually been doing very well. We’ve been staying pretty busy.”

Redline Motor Sports does small-engine maintenance and repairs. The owner told us, down the road, they hope to expand to include car repairs as well.

Finish Line Truck and Auto

Finish Line Truck and Auto just changed owners. Chris Goehring bought the company over about a month ago. Finish Line Truck and Auto has been open for more than a decade, and employees tell us the new owner hopes to build on the company’s long-standing reputation in the capital city. The shop offers just about anything you’d need for vehicle accessories.
