In this week’s Business Beat: A Bismarck middle school teacher opened the newest boutique in Bismarck called 47 Degrees North.

Right now, it’s more of a pop-up shop while the owner searches for a more permanent location.

Merchandise includes women’s clothing, particularly winter wear, which could come in handy right about now. There’s also hand-made jewelry and bath bombs, all made locally.

The owner, Jocelyn Schneider, personally picks out all the clothes she puts up for sale.

Until the shop finds a home, it’s located in a fitness studio at 1605 Park Avenue.

Schneider shares, “You know, empowered women empower other women, and I want to empower women through fashion. If you look your best, you’ll feel your best, you’ll do your best. And hopefully, you can do your best and help others too.”

If you want to check out 47 Degrees North, it’s currently open Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Schneider hopes to expand business hours soon.
