Car catches fire in Mandan

Update 5:37 p.m.

Trevor Susla, a 21 year-old from Chanhass, MN was driving on I-94, about 15 miles west of Mandan at around 7 p.m. last night.

Susla observed flames coming from the area of his cellular phone charger in the center console of his vehicle. He pulled over on the shoulder of Interstate 94 and exited the vehicle. New Salem Fire Department responded and put out the vehicle fire. The vehicle burned completely. Eastbound Interstate 94 was briefly closed for approximately 10 minutes before being re-opened to normal traffic flow. No injuries resulted from this incident. This incident remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

North Dakota Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a vehicle fire on I-94 west of Mandan. 

The highway patrol tweeted out this photo last night around 7 p.m. The tweet said the driver saw flames while driving and was able to pull over and exit the vehicle with no injuries reported.
