Car windows smashed in Lincoln, suspect in custody

In the early morning hours of Thursday, June 7th several car windows were smashed in a Lincoln, N.D. neighborhood.

The suspect is 21-year-old Travis Eggert. 

He was charged with fleeing an officer, criminal mischief, driving with suspended license, reckless endangerment, providing false information to law enforcement, and reckless driving.

Eggert was caught on a neighbor’s security camera.. you can see him driving on his motorcycle, going car to car, smashing the windows in.

He reportedly caused damage to seven different vehicles along Clarke Road.

We spoke to neighbors in the area about how this crime changes their impression of the neighborhood.

“Of course it does, when you hear about something like this happening, it is concerning. But like I said, I think the community does a good job of keeping things safe,” said Lorena Poppe, Respit Cargiver, Lincoln. 

Lincoln Police Department arrested Eggert this morning.

They were unavailable today to give further comment.
