Pheasants Forever is also working to get more women involved in the land conservation movement.
They say over half of the farmers and ranchers in North Dakota are women.
With the increase – the group is catering conservation outreach efforts to them.
Rancher, Gail Yuly is one of the women that does conservation practices and is encouraging other women to do the same.
Every year Yuly uses cover crops and does rotation so her land isn’t overgrazed.
She’s discovered that it benefits her ranch and also provides a source of food for wildlife.
Gail Yuly, Berthold Farmer/Rancher) “It’s good for your land. Your animals they just have you know there’s always something there for them to eat,” said Gail Yuly, Berthold Farmer/Rancher.
There are women caring for the land events all over the state.
