A Cavalier woman died shortly after she was transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, following a single car accident Saturday evening.
Close to 8 p.m., a report was called into Cavalier’s 911 center, stating there was a reckless vehicle driving northbound on Highway 18, south of Cavalier.
A Pembina County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the scene, where the Kia Soul fled at a high speed.
The Deputy pursued the car until it entered a ditch, struck a field approach and rolled on Highway 5.
The 45-year-old Cavalier woman, who was driving the vehicle was unrestrained and critically injured.
She was taken to the hospital where she died shortly after.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
