Whether a sports team is doing well or not, their cheerleaders are always there to get the crowd pepped up. Varsity cheerleaders wanted to connect with kids who were interested in the activity and give them a chance to learn the ropes. In just one day, these first through fifth graders learned basic jumps, crowd cheers, and even a dance to perform at half time. One cheerleader said that the girls approached their coach with the idea and were looking forward to teaching the kids what they had learned.
“It actually feels so good just to know, like, these little girls just look up to us and it just feels awesome that they want to work with us,” says Taylor Benjamin, MHS Varsity Hockey Team Bunny.
The children performed at the Minot and Bismarck basketball game at Magic City Campus.
