The City of Bismarck’s 2019 budget was introduced to the public this evening at the commission meeting.

Each year’s budget requires the passing of an ordinance. This was the preliminary budget hearing, so commissioners welcomed comments from you.

No one stepped forward this evening with opposition to anything. Commissioner Nancy Guy says this is the first time in her recollection that no members of the public had anything to say.

The 2019 budget actually decreased from last year’s by a little over 1.5 million dollars.

The general fund, any special funds, debt service funds and mill levies are all included in the budget.
