There’s a chance you could be charged differently for some of your utilities next year, for Bismarck residents.

The city is doing a study to update to their Utility Operations cost of service. Specifically, the city is looking at water, sewer, and storm water rates and how to fairly charge customers. Once the study is complete, they’ll present the commission with their findings and suggestions.

Michelle Klose; Director of Utility Services Operations: “But it really is an opportunity to give an understanding of what people are paying now verse what that change would be in their bill. And trying to make sure that we’re being fair in how we’re doing that. So not trying to expect any large jumps or increases.

Any changes to your utility bill won’t be seen until 2019.
