City Sues Developer Over Housing Project

The City of Minot is suing the developer of 16th Crossing to recover six million dollars in federal and city funds.
The city claims the developer has failed to meet its obligations under an agreement signed in 2013 where

16th Crossing received five million dollars in federal Community Development Block Grant funds, and nearly one million dollars in infrastructure improvements paid by the city.
The deal called for 178 townhomes and 350 manufactured homes on properties located in the 55th Crossing West neighborhood by July 2015.

City officials say the last report from the developer shows only 34 townhouses have been built and occupied.
