Street sweeping is in full swing and city officials are asking you to do your part.
Homeowners should move their vehicles and trailers off city streets so the sweeping machines can clean to the curbs.
Bismarck Public Works is asking you not to rake or blow leaves or grass into the street and keep grass clippings out of the gutter.
As for sand, do not rake it from your boulevard into the street. Rake sand into a box and set it out for garbage collection or take it to the landfill.
Bismarck City officials say your help makes the process go faster.
“If we are not getting the streets cleaned as soon as the heavy rain starts it’s going to be pushing all the debris down our stormwater drains and that will get the system plugged up so we would rather get it swept up so we don’t have to dig it out of our stormwater ponds,” said Keith Glass, Bismarck Superintendent of Roads and Streets.
