Colorado school district goes to 4-day school week

BRIGHTON, Colo. (WZTV) – A school district in Colorado is moving to four-day weeks.

School District 27J is trying out the new trend, which FOX 31 reports is gaining traction among rural counties in the state.

The district claims the schedule will save it about $1 million per year, however, parents who work on Mondays say that it may end up costing them more as they search for child care.

Child care through elementary schools is being provided for kids 12 and younger for $30 a day.

The new experiment goes into effect this week.
