Congressman Kevin Cramer announced this morning his oldest son has passed away.

He posted this message to his personal Facebook this morning.

Kris and I are grateful we were both able to be with our son Isaac Cramer at the Mayo Clinic Methodist Hospital in Rochester this morning as he went to be with Jesus. We were listening to @jeremycamp singing “You’re Worthy of My Praise”, holding hands, when Ike looked at me and took his last breath on Earth. Now Isaac feels no anxiety or urging for alcohol. He feels no pain and will never be depressed again. Today is our youngest son Abel’s 11th birthday. Ike introduced Abel to us on his 25th birthday over 10 years ago. Now Isaac and Abel share the same birthday. God is good!

Cramer’s 35-year-old son Isaac was admitted to the ICU on February 24th for failure of the liver and kidneys. At the time the family was called in. He stabilized a few days later and was transferred from Sanford Health in Bismarck to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

Cramer said he and his wife Kris were with Isaac at the time of his death.

Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement after the passing of Representative Kevin Cramer’s son Isaac Cramer:

“We are truly saddened to hear of Isaac’s passing. We know this is a very difficult time for the Cramer family and we pray for God’s blessing on them. Mikey and I extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to Kevin, his wife Kris and their entire family.”

U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp today issued the following statement on the passing of Isaac Cramer.

“My heart goes out to Rep. Cramer, Kris, and his entire family. No parent should have to bury a child. The support of those throughout our state and the grace of God will help lift them up during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with them.”
